I get it; Don’t Stop Believing is an awesome song. Now put something else on for once.

With cleverly covered classic hits being sung by everyone these days it was only a matter of time until theater caught up.  The new Off-Broadway show Perfect Harmony tells the story of the high stakes competitive world of high school acapella.

As a group of “high school students” comically deal with the pressure of competition, friendship, success, and of course sexuality the audience is delighted by beautifully sung covers.

It is a fun change of pace from the overly dramatic musicals that surround it in the Time Square area.  Although the characters take themselves far too seriously the show never does. With songs ranging from Queen’s The Final Countdown to Rihanna’s Umbrella, there is something for everyone.

Play Bull Shit Bingo! Much like traditional bingo you have a card with a 5×5 grid  in front of you, but  instead of having numbers in the squares you have buzz words.

You can secretly pass out some cards to a few of your friends in the meeting. Every time someone says a buzz word on your card you mark the square. The moment someone gets 5 in a row they win and shout out “BULL SHIT!” or at least email the message to their fellow players.

Think about how much fun you will have at a meeting. You now will actually be motivated to pay attention to what people say.

Most people aren’t funny. It’s not their fault; it is because it was never a class. Between recess and nap time we learned geography. Now people might be able to tell me where Kuala Lumpur is on a map but I wouldn’t want to talk to them because they aren’t any fun.

Luckily a group of concerned citizens came together and formed a brigade to battle this problem. This brigade of upright citizens not only makes us laugh but teaches classes so that we can entertain the world and enjoy ourselves.

The Upright Citizen’s Brigade offers a slew of classes on topics ranging from Improvisation to Sketch Comedy. Additionally, they offer very inexpensive and highly entertaining sketch comedy acts nightly.

So next time one of your employees chuckles at a comment or a date laughs at a pun you know it is time tall call the professionals and learn to be funny.

Luckily the people at Fast Society have created an ingenious  solution that is available free on the iPhone.

The idea is simple, you can create a short term group for periods of time between 3 hours and 3 days.

Once created everyone can stay in touch with joint text messages, a hassle free conference call system and a slew of other simple features.

As an added benefit when people join your group throughout the course of an adventure you can quickly add them.

With geolocation everyone in the group can share where they are to make coordinating more easy. The biggest risk is that you can’t lie that you are on your way when you haven’t even left your apartment

This might look like sword but don’t be fooled…

…it is an Umbrella.

That right, not only is it convenient to carry, and looks supper cool, but it will defend against rain, snow and even the occasional feudal war lord.

No it isn’t a Halloween party, you are at comic con, a massive convention for all things fantasy, Sci-Fi, and comic book related.

Today through Sunday thousands of fans will attend lectures from directors, actors, artists and writers while finally being able to let out there inner super hero.

It is suspected that there will be more 40 year old virgins in this one event then ever assembled in the history of man.

The convention is an opportunity for up and coming writers, artists, and producers to hear from those who have made it in the industry.

Iron Man has gained a few extra pounds

It is also an opportunity to see 30 Jedi try and protect the republic, but we all know how that ended. It is not a good time to be a Jedi.

It doesn’t occur as exciting, inspiring, or especially interesting. That’s why in 2005 Molly Crabapple, a then art student, started Dr. Sketchy’s Anti-Art School.

As opposed to a traditional school, Dr. Sketchy runs it’s events at bars.

The models ranging from burlesque stars and  trannies, to charicters out of strange SciFi movies or comic books.

It has attracted an almost cult like following around the world with fans in over 100 cities around the world opening their own chapters.

The events attract both armatures and famed art professionals, so regardless of if you have ever drawn a single line or can paint a master piece next time you are up for an adventure in the arts check out a Dr. Sketchy event.
