Origins: I love to bring people together. I found that when I cooked dinner with new friends the common creative act bonded us. Where as we started as strangers meeting for the first time we quickly became a group of friends celebrating. A magic would occurre where new friendships were born, new companies were formed and new ideas were brought to light. The experience was so wonderful I decided to do it as a monthly event.
The Design: Nine people from a different industry are all invited for a private community dinner. Each guest is a person of influence in their industry. The dinner has a community design where all attendees help prepare the meal together. The menu is preselected and includes a three course meal and drinks. A topic of discussion or theme will often be selected to guide the evening’s conversations.
Traditions
- A Roast Toast: This is an opening toast to the meal given in a style making fun of the host.
- Photo booth: On occasion we host a photographer at the party we will open up a photo booth and take silly/rambunctious photos of the night.
- Games: At times guests are inspired to play games ranging from Jenga to phonetic-scrabble to Nintendo Wii Sports.
